The NFL Football Teams Ranked by Wins, Statistics, Seasons

The following reports rank the NFL football teams by their win frequency. The teams are listed in descending order, from the highest frequency (“hottest”) to the least winning teams (“coldest”). The report shows the number of hits: Number of wins against the spread (ATS). In general, the ATS wins are very close to number of straight wins. The percentage parameter represents the frequency as the percentage of wins considering number of teams and number of games per week.
There are differences in the history of the league. The number of teams is variable. Some football teams have been around since the very beginning. A few teams are new. Yet, other teams disappeared, and then came back to life! The percentage offers the most accurate correlation to the frequency norm based on probability.
A statistical report as such is not of much use. The short-term ranges of analysis offer stronger tendencies, in accordance to the Fundamental Formula of Gambling (FFG). For far better results, run the free software SkipSystem.EXE:

• Current NFL format: 32 teams playing from 14 to 16 games per week, 17 weeks a year. The postseason is not included in this type of analysis.
The New England Patriots are a tremendous team, especially in the five-year period 2002-2006. They can be considered as the best team in the NFL history based on success consistency. They covered the point spread with a 60% consistency, which is 13 percentage points above the norm. More extraordinarily, the New England Patriots started the 2007 season with an 8-for-8-success rate against the spread (ATS). Their average margin of victory is 25 points! I would think the bookies live a bad nightmare…
However, things changed dramatically in the second half of the 2007 season. The New England Patriots finished the regular season 10-6 against the spread. They got tired…
Still, the New England Patriots accomplished a great feast in the 2007 season: They remained undefeated. They ended the regular season with the best record ever: 16-0. The New England Patriots went on to win their first two playoff games and reached a best-ever record of 18-0. They were heavily favored to win Super Bowl XLII (the championship). Not exactly! The New England Patriots were upset by the New York Giants in the 2007 championship game!

You will notice that the discrepancy in frequencies is determined by the length of analysis (parpaluck or number of weeks analyzed). That is, for a very large number of seasons, the NFL teams tend to register the same percentage of victories. It is almost a fair game: The NFL applies the healthy policies of salary cap and revenue sharing. You can imagine NFL as a die with 32 faces (tell me the Greek for that geek!) BRRRRRRRRAHAHAHAHA!!1!!
